Smile With Us

At Seaport Orthodontics, we’ve reimagined the orthodontic journey to feel as beautiful as the results.

Two-Phase Treatment

At Seaport Orthodontics, we take a proactive and highly individualized approach to orthodontic care — especially when it comes to growing smiles. Two-phase treatment is a specialized process designed to guide proper dental and jaw development in children, helping to create the best possible foundation for a healthy, balanced smile.
As the name suggests, two-phase treatment occurs in two distinct stages, each carefully timed to align with your child’s growth and development.

Phase One: Early Intervention

The first phase typically begins while a child still has a mix of baby and permanent teeth. During this stage, the focus is on addressing developing issues such as crowding, narrow arches, crossbites, or jaw misalignment before they become more complex.
Depending on your child’s needs, treatment may include braces, clear aligners like Invisalign First, or auxiliary appliances such as expanders or growth-modifying devices. These tools allow us to guide jaw development, create space for incoming teeth, and improve bite relationships in a way that is both efficient and minimally invasive.
In some cases, we may incorporate the Invisalign Palatal Expander System — a modern, removable alternative to traditional expanders — to achieve comfortable, precise expansion without the need for bulky metal appliances.
Not every child requires early treatment, but for those who do, Phase One can significantly reduce the need for more extensive intervention later on.

Phase Two: Comprehensive Alignment

After Phase One is complete, we allow time for the remaining permanent teeth to come in naturally. Once development is complete, Phase Two begins — typically during the early teen years.
This stage focuses on fine-tuning tooth alignment and bite using braces or Invisalign. Because many foundational issues were addressed during Phase One, this phase is often more efficient and focused, leading to beautifully aligned, stable results.

A Thoughtful, Long-Term Approach

Two-phase treatment is about more than straightening teeth — it’s about guiding growth, improving function, and creating harmony between the teeth, jaws, and facial structure.
At Seaport Orthodontics, we carefully evaluate each child to determine if and when early treatment is beneficial. Our goal is never to over-treat, but to intervene at the right time when it can make the greatest impact.
Throughout both phases, we prioritize a supportive, positive experience for both children and parents. Clear communication, a welcoming environment, and a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach ensure that every step of the process feels smooth and reassuring.
At Seaport Orthodontics, we’ve reimagined the orthodontic journey to feel as beautiful as the results — starting from the very first phase.

TMJ/TMD Treatment

At Seaport Orthodontics, our approach to orthodontic care goes beyond straightening teeth — we focus on how your smile functions as a whole. For patients experiencing jaw discomfort, headaches, or bite-related issues, we offer specialized TMJ/TMD treatment designed to relieve pain and restore balance.
TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders, often referred to as TMD, can affect the joints and muscles that control jaw movement. Symptoms may include jaw pain, clicking or popping sounds, difficulty chewing, tension headaches, facial soreness, or even neck discomfort. These issues can range from mild to more complex, and often require a detailed, personalized approach to diagnose and manage effectively.
With advanced training in orofacial pain, Dr. B brings a deeper level of expertise to the evaluation and treatment of TMJ/TMD concerns. Using advanced diagnostics — including CBCT imaging when appropriate — we’re able to assess the joints, bite alignment, and surrounding structures with precision. This allows us to identify underlying causes and develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
One of the most common and effective treatment options we offer is custom nightguards. These oral appliances are designed to be worn while you sleep, helping to reduce clenching and grinding (bruxism), alleviate pressure on the jaw joints, and protect your teeth from excessive wear. Each nightguard is carefully crafted for a precise, comfortable fit, ensuring both effectiveness and ease of use.
Depending on your condition, TMJ/TMD treatment may also be combined with orthodontic care to improve bite alignment, which can play a key role in long-term relief and stability. In some cases, additional therapies may be recommended to further support comfort and function.
Our goal is not just to manage symptoms, but to help you feel better in your daily life — with less tension, improved function, and greater overall comfort.
At Seaport Orthodontics, we’ve reimagined the orthodontic journey to feel as beautiful as the results — and that includes care that supports both your smile and your well-being.

Gum Re-Contouring

At Seaport Orthodontics, we understand that a beautiful smile is about more than just straight teeth — it’s also about balance and proportion. In some cases, excess gum tissue can make teeth appear smaller or uneven, even after orthodontic treatment is complete. That’s where gum re-contouring treatment can make a meaningful difference.
Gum contouring, also known as a gingivectomy, is a gentle, precise procedure that reshapes the gumline to reveal more of the natural tooth structure. By carefully contouring the gums, we can create a more symmetrical, aesthetically balanced smile that enhances your overall results.
This treatment is often recommended after braces or Invisalign to refine the final appearance of your smile, especially in cases where a “gummy” smile or uneven gum levels are present. The procedure itself is minimally invasive and typically completed in a single visit, with little downtime.
Our doctors take a highly detail-oriented approach to smile design, ensuring that your gumline complements the shape and position of your teeth. The result is a cleaner, more polished look that allows your smile to truly shine.
At Seaport Orthodontics, gingivectomy treatment is just one more way we deliver results that feel complete, refined, and beautifully tailored to you.

What makes these transformations so striking is often how precise and targeted the change is. In many cases, a small adjustment to the gumline is all it takes to dramatically improve the symmetry, proportion, and overall appearance of a smile. Teeth that once appeared short or uneven suddenly look fuller, more balanced, and beautifully framed.

Whether you’re completing an orthodontic journey or simply looking to elevate the smile you already have, gum re-contouring offers a meaningful result with minimal treatment. We invite you to browse the photos below and imagine what a difference the details can make.

Teeth Whitening

A brighter smile can make a powerful impact — and at Seaport Orthodontics, we offer professional teeth whitening treatments designed to enhance your results safely and effectively.
Over time, teeth can become stained from everyday factors like coffee, tea, red wine, and natural aging. Professional whitening provides a noticeable improvement in brightness, helping your smile look more vibrant, refreshed, and confident.
Our whitening treatments are customized to your needs, allowing us to achieve consistent, even results while minimizing sensitivity. Whether you’re completing orthodontic treatment or simply looking to enhance your smile, whitening is a simple yet transformative way to elevate your overall appearance.
Many patients choose to whiten their teeth after braces or Invisalign to complete their smile transformation. It’s the finishing touch that brings everything together — highlighting the alignment, symmetry, and beauty of your newly straightened teeth.
As with everything we do, our approach is thoughtful and personalized. We’ll guide you through your options and help you choose the whitening solution that best fits your goals and lifestyle.

Botox

At Seaport Orthodontics, our commitment to facial aesthetics goes beyond the smile. Botox offers a versatile, non-surgical treatment option that can enhance both comfort and appearance, complementing your overall results.
Botox works by gently relaxing targeted muscles, making it effective for both cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. Aesthetically, it can soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, creating a more refreshed and youthful look. When used in conjunction with orthodontic treatment, it can help harmonize your smile within your overall facial features.
From a functional perspective, Botox can also play a role in managing certain TMJ/TMD symptoms. By reducing muscle tension in the jaw, it may help relieve discomfort caused by clenching or grinding, supporting improved comfort and function.
Our doctors take a conservative, precise approach to Botox treatment, focusing on natural-looking results that enhance — not alter — your appearance. Every treatment is carefully planned based on your individual anatomy and goals.
At Seaport Orthodontics, we’ve reimagined the orthodontic journey to feel as beautiful as the results — and that includes offering advanced aesthetic options that help you look and feel your best.

ICON Treatment

White Spot Removal
At Seaport Orthodontics, we believe that finishing your smile should feel just as refined and beautiful as the journey itself. For patients who notice white spots or areas of discoloration on their teeth — often after braces or due to early enamel changes — ICON treatment offers a modern, minimally invasive solution to restore a smooth, natural appearance.
ICON (Infiltration Concept) is an advanced treatment designed to improve the appearance of white spot lesions without the need for drilling, injections, or removing healthy tooth structure. These white spots are typically caused by early enamel demineralization, which can occur during orthodontic treatment or from factors like plaque buildup or natural variation in enamel development.
Rather than covering or removing the affected area, ICON works by penetrating the enamel with a specially formulated resin that blends the porous, discolored area with the surrounding healthy tooth structure. This process helps to visually “erase” the white spot by matching how light reflects across the surface of the tooth, resulting in a more even, natural-looking smile.
One of the key advantages of ICON treatment is its conservative approach. Because it does not require drilling or anesthesia, the procedure is comfortable, efficient, and preserves the integrity of your natural teeth. In many cases, treatment can be completed in a single visit, making it a convenient option for patients looking to enhance their smile without additional downtime.
ICON is especially popular as a finishing touch after braces, helping to refine results and elevate the overall appearance of your smile. It can also be an excellent option for patients who have had white spots for years and are looking for a simple, effective cosmetic improvement.
Our doctors take a highly detail-oriented approach when recommending ICON, carefully evaluating whether it’s the right solution based on the depth and type of discoloration. When appropriate, it can deliver immediate, noticeable improvement — without altering the natural structure of your teeth.
At Seaport Orthodontics, we’ve reimagined the orthodontic journey to feel as beautiful as the results — and ICON treatment is one more way we ensure your final smile looks as polished, balanced, and confident as you envision.

Retainers

Completing orthodontic treatment is a milestone worth protecting — and that’s exactly what retainers are designed to do.

After braces or Invisalign, retainers are an essential part of maintaining your results. Teeth have a natural tendency to shift over time, and consistent retainer wear is the most effective way to preserve the alignment you worked hard to achieve. We provide custom retainers that fit precisely and comfortably, making it easy to keep your smile looking its best for years to come.

But retainers aren’t only for patients who just finished treatment. If it has been some time since you completed orthodontics and you’ve noticed your teeth have shifted slightly — or if your old retainer no longer fits or has worn down — we can help. Sometimes a new retainer is all that’s needed to secure your smile without embarking on a full course of active treatment.

We also welcome patients who have never had orthodontic treatment but are looking for guidance on protecting their smile or addressing minor changes over time. A simple consultation allows us to evaluate your current alignment and help you determine whether a retainer is the right solution.

At Seaport Orthodontics, every detail of your smile matters — and we’re here to help you protect it at every stage.

Airway / Orthognathic Surgery

At Seaport Orthodontics, our care extends to even the most complex orthodontic concerns — including those that go beyond what braces or aligners alone can address.

For most patients, orthodontic treatment is sufficient to achieve a healthy bite and a beautifully aligned smile. However, in some cases, significant jaw discrepancies — such as severe underbites, overbites, open bites, or asymmetries — may have a skeletal component that cannot be fully corrected through tooth movement alone. In these situations, orthognathic (jaw) surgery, performed in coordination with orthodontic treatment, may be recommended to achieve the best functional and aesthetic outcome.

Airway considerations are also an important part of this conversation. Certain jaw and skeletal relationships can contribute to airway concerns, including sleep-disordered breathing. By addressing underlying structural issues, orthognathic treatment may play a meaningful role in improving not only how your smile looks and functions, but also how you breathe and rest.

Our doctors are highly experienced in identifying when surgical intervention may be warranted. We take a thorough, collaborative approach — carefully evaluating your jaw relationships, facial structure, and airway using advanced diagnostics, including CBCT imaging — and will walk you through every option in a clear and unhurried way. If surgery is determined to be the right path, we work closely with trusted oral and maxillofacial surgeons to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated treatment experience from start to finish.

Orthognathic surgery is never a first resort — but when it is the right choice, it can be truly life-changing. Our goal is to ensure you feel fully informed, supported, and confident in whatever path is best for you.
